Jean-Remi Verella

Monsieur Verella comes to us originally from Haiti, and French is his first language. He graduated from UVA in Charlottesville with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology. He has worked in both Charlottesville City Schools and Norfolk Public Schools as a Classroom Engagement Specialist. As such, he facilitated successful educational outcomes with both ESL students and Special Needs students. In addition, he initiated the After School Chess Club in Norfolk. 

He is also an experienced youth soccer coach and is eager to get our team up and running. M. Verella has over 20 years of soccer experience. He began his soccer career traveling from Haiti to play in Spain, Dominican Republic, Belgium, and the United States. He has played as a goalkeeper for FC Shana, and with the FC Bethesda and D.C United’s youth clubs. He has also participated in the first Haitian national rugby sevens team to play in an international tournament.
