Tesia Zogran-Werness

Aftercare Lead

Tesia Zogran Werness

Tesia started her first year working for the Richmond Waldorf School January 2022 as a Co-lead Aftercare Teacher. However, it is not her first time involved with RWS; she was a student here way back when it was called The Spring Meadow Waldorf School and she has so much appreciation for what she learned here that she couldn’t stay away.

Outside work, some of Tesia’s interests include sports (soccer, volleyball, kickball, wiffle ball, and football), reading, writing poetry, caring for animals (working on her mini farm), learning new things, and hands-on crafty things including sewing or knitting. Then, of course, she has always had a passion for working with children.

She babysat for family friends since she was 11 years old and cared for her own brothers even before that. In college, she took up many babysitting jobs to help pay her way through school. A lot of these jobs were for families with children who have disabilities. Through this, she discovered her passion for American Sign Language where she graduated from Radford with a degree in Deaf Education.

Throughout her school years she has been in multiple honor societies, one being future educators in the US. She has gotten many compliments on her skills in working with children and how much she cares for them.

After graduating, she took her passion for kids and combined it with traveling, becoming an Au Pair in Australia to 3 amazing little boys. She continued traveling after that and has been to New Zealand, Iceland, Ireland, and France, with more to come.
