Visit Us

Thank you for your interest in Richmond Waldorf School. We would love to have you visit our school, and offer a variety of ways to learn more about our hands-on approach to learning.

Enrolling at Richmond Waldorf School begins with a visit to our school.  We enjoy sharing Waldorf Education with prospective families and welcome visitors. Parents may opt to attend an open house, group observation morning, or arrange a personal tour.

Open Houses

Open Houses are interactive opportunities where children and parents can experience our classrooms and playgrounds, meet our faculty and staff, and participate in interactive workshops.

Our next Open House, Windows Into Waldorf, will be on Saturday, January 26, 2019.

Open Houses allow parents and their children to experience Waldorf education through interactive workshops and activities led by our faculty. Families will meet teachers, parents, and students; visit classrooms and playgrounds; view student work; and learn about how to apply. It won’t take long to see why our hands-on approach naturally engages children in the learning process.

Classroom Observations

Walking into a Waldorf classroom, you immediately know you are in a unique learning environment. Classroom Observations allow parents to see inside a Waldorf classroom and the relationship between teacher and class. Observations are differentiated for Early Childhood or Grades, and typically 45 – 60 minutes. Meetings include a discussion of Waldorf Education and the Admissions process, a tour of the school, and a visit into one or more classrooms.

Early Childhood Classroom Observations

Early Childhood Observations are offered October through May. These parent-only observations allow you to experience the wonder and joy of Waldorf Early Childhood. Our mixed-age classes are filled with practical and artistic activities, as well as indoor and outdoor unstructured play, engaging children’s creativity and social skills. Parents will also learn how the Waldorf model progresses to elementary and middle school.

Early Childhood Observation Dates:

October 24, November 7, December 5

January 16, February 6, February 20

Grade School Classroom Observations

Grade School observations are offered October through April. Visit a series of classrooms from Grades 1 to 8 to see Waldorf Education in action. Visiting multiple classes and ages allows attendees to get a sense of the full Waldorf program and how the curriculum meets the academic, artistic, and social needs for children at a range of ages. Sign up below for an observation morning.
