Halloween Costume Guidelines, from beloved late teacher, Phil Pollard:
“Most students will dress in costumes, and herein lies the rub. In general, the costumes worn at school should come from the curriculum of the grades. So, in the case of First Grade: kings, queens, knights, princesses, gnomes, fairies, and the like work well. In the case of Seventh Grade, perhaps Leonardo or the Mona Lisa herself. It’s wide open with one caveat, that we don’t wear anything that comes straight from TV, movies, or video games. We also ask that you don’t wear masks. One of our goals as a school is to help students think for themselves, to develop their own imaginations, and to be creative! So stretch those imaginations, search the dress up trunk, and find your inner princess! Have a fun time making a costume! If all else fails, dress up as your favorite teacher.”
