Established in 1996, Richmond Waldorf School is a not-for-profit, independent private school in Richmond, Virginia offering a parent/toddler program (18 months to 3 years old), mixed-age kindergarten (3 to 6 years old), elementary school (grades 1-5), and middle school (grades 6-8). Our fifth grade class went to Spikenard Farm and Honeybee Sanctuary in Floyd, Virginia as part of their Botany block. The class had an amazing experience camping at the beautiful farm for two days. Students learned everything about honeybees, helped spread seeds for pollinator plants, met the goats, danced, and saw the inside of a hive.
